USDA CACFP WAIVERS
We have received notification from Tennessee Department of Human Services, Kentucky Department of Education (KDOE) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that they have approved the following waivers for Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal pattern requirements:

MISSING MILK COMPONENT

If emergency conditions present a temporary unavailability of fluid milk, the COVID-19 No Milk at Meal Service Form may be used to waive this requirement (per meal missing the proper milk component.)

MISSING MEAL COMPONENT

If emergency conditions present a temporary unavailability of either the grain, meat, fruit or vegetable component, the COVID-19 Meal Patterns Form may be used to waive this requirement (per meal missing the proper meal component.)

NON CONGREGATE MEALS

Typically children must be present at the child care site in order to claim a meal. This requirement is being waived during the pandemic. If you wish to provide claimable meals via Drive-Thru, Pick-Up, or Delivery the COVID-19 Non-Congregate Meals Form may be used.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is partnering with The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to make $10 million in new assistance available to help licensed childcare agencies that were impacted by the recent COVID-19 emergency and the March 3 tornado disaster. Click below to learn how you can apply to receive financial assistance due to COVID-19 and/or the March 3, 2020 tornado disaster.
The COVID-19 Essential Employee Child Care Payment Assistance program is designed to help support essential workers so they can stay on the job during the COVID-19 emergency. Through payment assistance and a network of temporary care locations, parents who work as essential employees can access child care at no cost, during the COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency until June 15, 2020.
